Location<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Canopy by Hilton Dubai Al Seef is located on the southern shore of the Dubai Creek. It’s in the Al Seef area which is known for it’s beautiful corniche, souk and restaurants. I’ve walked the area at different times of the day and it’s one of Dubai most pleasant pedestrian areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s only a 15-minute drive by taxi from the airport (DXB). We picked-up an RTA taxi at the airport: very efficient and convenient. I wrote an extensive guide about getting around Dubai & transportation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check-in<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Check-in was long. It was getting late and I wanted to shower and get to bed. Check-in agent wasn’t responsive to my request and went on with his job behind the glass screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately the hotel was full and felt understaffed in the late evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Canopy by Hilton Dubai Al Seef Room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was not upgraded to a larger room. The reason was the hotel was invaded by 2 bus loads of Belgium tourists. Low cost mass tourism is not my thing. As they flooded into the hotel lobby, they seemed pretty indifferent to the fact that we we’re still in the middle of a 4th COVID-19 wave. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The room is functional. Not the largest I’ve ever seen within the Hilton portfolio but it does the job. I do not recommend it for a family of 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s ideal for a party of 2 or a couple. The room has all the modern amenities you need as well as a clean bathroom. However sofas are small and not comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a room for sleeping and washing at a great location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breakfast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. It was in my top 5 across all brands and categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshly squeezed orange juice was served as well as tasty latte. We were seated outside in the shade. It was already over 30C at 8 am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The buffet offered the usual wide choice of Arabic and Western-style breakfast items. A staff member from the restaurant kitchen attended each main station and served guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lobby is spacious and features many sitting areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Much I Paid For My Canopy by Hilton Dubai Al Seef Stay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I stayed at the property at the end of September on the eve of EXPO 2020. Yet I managed to lock in a rate of $65 with breakfast for me and my travel partner. I’m a Hilton Honors Gold member, therefore breakfast was included on the lowest room rate I paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Definitely worth paying in cash with such as very competitive rate. Obviously, with EXPO 2020 rates have gone up. They’ll probably remain high until the end of the universal event in March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n

Verdict on the Canopy by Hilton Dubai Al Seef<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Canopy Al Seef<\/a>, as I expected, was a very pleasant surprise for 3 reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First reason is location. Only a 15-minute drive from the airport, the hotel is in old Dubai town on the Creek shore. The restaurents terrasses have a great view of the Creek skyline. Guest can walk all the way to the souqs westward. It’s very hard to beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second reason is hard product. Although the room sofas weren’t comfortable, the hotel delivered a great bedding product, a clean bathroom, lots of in-room amenities such as USB plugs, quality coffee and COVID-19 cleaning kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third reason is price point. Rooms cost $75 to $90. If you can book a room with breakfast, do it. As mentionned earlier, the Canopy Dubai breakfast buffet can lock horns with some of high end hotels. I’ve experienced and I can witness to that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So next time you hit Dubai, start visiting old town (Deira<\/a> and Bur Dubai<\/a>), use the Canopy Dubai Al Seef hotel<\/a> as your base for a couple of days.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
