My visit to Doha allowed me to try a few hotels. The reason I could afford the Ritz-Carlton Doha was because the hotel has a great redemption value. I will mention later in the article how many Marriott Bonvoy points I paid for a one-night stay.
Check-in
As soon as I set foot into the hotel, I was welcomed by Fion, a Customer experience manager. She accompanied me to the front desk. Gaby processed my check-in quickly and handed me my keycard.
Fion escorted me to my room. She presented the property and showed me some of the room amenities. I appreciated the gesture. It reminded me I was in a Ritz-Carlton property.

How much Marriott Bonvoy points I paid
I booked my room one week before my stay. Through the Marriott App, I noticed that although the property was in the Pearl area, it was the best deal. Not only I was getting a luxury stay but I was getting it for 30,000 points.
The other Marriott properties were better located in some respect. However they were regular Marriott boxes that wouldn’t have offered added value to my stay.
Verdict
The room is great. The service is what you expect from Ritz-Carlton Doha. I believe the 30,000 Marriott Bonvoys points was a reasonable price to pay for a Ritz. I’m not a fan of Louis XIV style furniture in the lobby area. I believe it belongs to castles and Versailles.
Also the property is isolated in the Pearl district. I’m not a fan of artificial islands that feel too modern yet empty of any authentic social life. You can check out my review of our luxury stay at Al Bustan Palace, which is a Ritz-Carlton as well in Muscat, Oman.
