The Trianon Palace Versailles was built in 1910 by French architect René Sergent. The hotel is located next to the entrance of the chateau de Versailles Trianon Park. It’s also known as Marie-Antoinette’s estate.

Booking the Trianon Palace Versailles stay

I booked the stay via the Hilton Honors App. I took advantage of the Hilton Summer Sale; the discount was at around 25%. It was my birthday gift and a great way to end our summer Euro tour after Rome and the Champagne region. I had to book a second room for the children, as we could not be more than 3 per room. The children’s room was offered with 50% discount.

Arrival and check-in

As we drove on Boulevard de la Reine, the entrance was on our right just before the gate to the Domaine National de Versailles et de Trianon.

The Trianon Palace Versailles Pavillon room

The Pavillon building is located across the property gardens, It was built in the early nineties and is connected the main palace building via a tunnel.

I must admit that I was disappointed with the bedding. After all this is a Waldorf Astoria hotel. Aside from the mattress, the bedding did not feel top notch. I was particularly disappointed with the pillows.

It is a Hilton weak spot, it does not have a reputation for having one of the best beddings in the business. The property can definitely enhance the sleep and comfort experience.

Pool and spa facilities

The Trianon Palace Versailles features a full-service pool  & fitness center facility. The Grecian-style swimming pool is well designed. A lifeguard is on duty at all times. The lifeguard made available children swimming accessories such as water noodles and inflatables. I was also impressed by the presence of a hotel team member that paid attention to our individual needs. As we were leaving the pool, she came to my son with small slippers and an additional towel. That’s great attention and service.

Access to the Trianon Estates

Verdict

The Trianon Palace Versailles is the hotel you want to stay in when in Versailles. It doesn’t make any sense to stay at other properties, with less facilities, that will cost you as much. You cannot avoid a great swimming pool, a complimentary hammam and a world-class gym at the Versailles gates.

Using Hilton Honors points isn’t worth it, unless you hundreds of thousands of Honors points sitting in your account. Get a rate that includes breakfast. and make sure you double your points until end of 2017.
