Etihad Airways has partnered with Air Canada Aeroplan program to offer reward flights. The airline is already an Air Canada interline partner. For example it hauls Air Canada passengers from London Heathrow (LHR) to Abu Dhabi (AUH).

Etihad Airways reward flight are already showing in Aeroplan. The good news is that there are no high charges on reward flights. Here is a one-way flight example from Toronto (YYZ) to Abu Dhabi (AUH)both in Economy and Business class:

It’s a great value for a 12h-flight to the UAE and a low fee of $56.02!

However I could not find Business class seats from Toronto. I’ll give it another try in the upcoming weeks. I could not find seats for passengers connecting from Montreal, Ottawa or other Canadian cities.

More luxurious options are available as well, such as Abu Dhabi-Bangkok in Business class:

First class seat area available from Abu Dhabi to Paris thanks to the daily flights EY31 & EY37 on the A380-800 with only 60,000 Aeroplan miles & $44.65. Fees are higher in the other way but still worth the reward.

First class reward for London, Seoul and Sydney are more difficult to find but I’m sure they can be booked with some patience and trials or by calling Aeroplan.

Earn Aeroplan points

Etihad will allow Aeroplan members to earn points on its flights. Here is the earn table on all Etihad Airways flights. They are based on the actual distance flown.

Verdict

This great news for Aeroplan members flying out of Toronto. An additional low fee airline via Aeroplan is always good new, particularly on a longer haul flight to the Middle-East.

Also some great luxury reward flights on their iconic First Class seats & apartments.
