Warsaw Marriott

AGING BUT CENTRAL

The Warsaw Marriott is part of a series of Marriott properties that has aged fast. The room are witnesses of that, although upgrades have been applied to the common areas.
But the property is in central Warsaw which gives its forte.

LOCATION

The hotel is located in the heart of the city center. It’s across the street from the Warsaw central station (Warszawa Centralna). A short walk will take you to the Złote Tarasy shopping mall and the iconic Palace of Culture.

CHECK-IN

Smooth and quick check in from a friendly staff that wanted me to to feel the Marriott welcome while getting me to my room to relax and unwind. Last name, passport, credit card for the room, information on the breakfast and off to the 32nd floor with 2 keycards.

THE WARSAW MARRIOTT ROOM

The king size deluxe room was simple, bigger than I thought it would be and with top notch air conditioning (30-35 C in Warsaw!), The bathroom was classic and clean. The desk was wide, large and perfect to shove everything that didn’t say in my suitcase :).

There was a comfortable looking sofa but I never used it. The bed was comfortable but I did find the mattress too soft but I was coming from a firm tempurpedic mattress at home. Though the pillows were way too soft and shallow so I was sleeping with all 4 of them stacked up.

BREAKFAST

Nice ballroom area with tons of seating area. The breakfast buffet was classical as per hotel breakfast with good quality choices including polish dishes as the classical pierogies.

Black coffee was available upon request by any waiter and they would kindly leave the carafe on the table. The highlight was the omelette bar that was popular and I did find the lineup to be worth the wait for 2-3 times I preferred an omelette to scrambled eggs

HOW MUCH I PAID

$0.

137,550 Avios miles for 7 nights which includes a 20% sale at the time of the booking back in May 2019. The room included breakfast for 2 adults. The hotel charges $30 per adult for breakfast. Needless to say I saved $210 per adult on the entire stay.

As the Vice-President of the United States and his delegation were checking in soon, the Polish police toured the entire property to make sure all guest rooms and common areas were secure.

VERDICT

Clean, confortable hotel that is in the heart of the city in the business downtown of Warsaw but you wouldn’t know it from your room as you won’t hear the noise.

Right in front of the central station that will take you to Chopin airport (I took that train from Chopin to the central station. ), the Marriott Warsaw is a great choice to stay in Warsaw and then visit this underrated city,
