Nestled in the Green Gold Centar, a business district, the brand new Doubletree Zagreb hotel is only 4 km from Zagreb old town. Every morning it would take use 20-30 minutes to get to Ban Jelačić Square in central Zagreb.
The property is a 15-minute drive from Zagreb’s Franjo Tuđman International Airport (ZAG).
Check-in took less than 20 minutes. Usual requests, passport, credit card number, and Hilton Honors Gold status recognition and we were off to our room.
I had schedule a chauffeur pick-up at the airport (ZAG) a few weeks earlier. Correspondence with the front desk staff was flawless and efficient.
No upgrade. Despite having Gold status and the hotel not being full.
We got the King guest room. A spacious room in general except the sitting area that’s cramped between the desk and window. Why do they still make huge desks in hotel room?
As featured in the photo below, the sofa is really crammed between the large curtains and desk. Not the most comfortable sitting.
The bathroom is a standard Doubletree bath space. Practical and modern looking.
Breakfast is served at the hotel’s OXBO Urban Bar & Grill restaurant. The buffet features a large food spread with many healthy options and fresh food from the area such as cheese, honey & vegetables.
Located on the 10th floor, the fitness room is fully equipped. The gym has also a small HIIT area.
The swimming pool is perfect at 1.25m depth all across with a 180-degree view of Zagreb and the mountains.
The Finnish spa facilities are remarkable. Lot of options in a small space made a good impression on me: ice station, sauna, showers all complimentary.
The DoubleTree Zagreb is a perfect business and family hotel. Located in a business district, the hotel is only 7 years old. Modern amenities, free access to the business center, pool & spa facilities and free breakfast for Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members.
Two things irritated me though. Item one: a poor tv channels offering. Not enough English-speaking channels. Item two: a complicated room light switch system.
