Iberia has joined the British Airways & Qatar Airways partnership. Madrid becomes the latest hub to join the largest airline joint business in the world spanning close to 60 countries.

Travellers will be able to enjoy more codeshare flights and Avios benefits while departing and connecting via London, Madrid and Doha. All three airlines use the same Avios currency, although they are different in terms of earning and redeeming them.

Iberia will add a new daily service from its main hub Madrid (MAD) to Doha (DOH) from 11 December, 2023. Flight IB6701 will operate an A330-200 with Business and Economy class cabins. Together with Qatar Airways, the MAD-DOH service will operate three daily flights. Qatar Airways daily doubles are already codeshare flights. For example, flight QR149 is marketed by Iberia as flight IB7902.

This agreement will allow travellers to book trips with any of the 3 carriers and enjoy a seamless experience (synchronized schedule, one PNR, smooth luggage transfers).

Members of frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, and Qatar Airways Privilege Club will be able to transfer Avios points from a program to another at no fee.
